1.      In the Tale of Two Babies activity both Penelope and Erma had Type B blood. Suppose two individuals from the United States are selected at random. What is the probability that the two individuals would both have Type B blood?

 

2a. In this activity, Penelope’s suitors each had a different blood   

     type (A, B, AB, and O.)  Suppose four individuals from the United      

     States are selected at random. What is the probability that these     

     four people would have four different blood types (A, B, AB, and

     O)?

b. What is the probability that two people will have Type A blood and two people will not have Type A blood?

c. What is the probability that none of the four people have type B blood.?

d. What is the probability that at least three of the four people have Type AB blood?

 

3a. Rh factor was not an issue in this story. (All of the individuals were actually Rh negative. Suppose nine people are selected at random from the United States. What is the probability that all nine people are Rh negative?

5. Suppose East Nottareal has a population of around 175,000 people. This population mimics the U.S. population with regard to distribution of blood types.
